From All-American to Pro to Trainer

A basketball journey built on trusting the work.

Before creating Trust Your Work, Tayron Thomas built his basketball career through the same principle he now teaches players: put in purposeful work and trust it when the moment comes.

At Philadelphia University, now Thomas Jefferson University, Thomas became the program's all-time leading scorer with 2,414 career points. During his senior season, he scored a school-record 898 points, averaged 29.0 points per game, and led NCAA Division II in scoring.

He finished his college career as a two-time All-American, CACC Player of the Year, NABC All-American, and Basketball Times NCAA Division II Co-Player of the Year. He was also selected for the NABC All-Star Game, where he earned MVP honors.

That college career launched a 10-year professional basketball career spanning nine countries. After his playing career, Thomas brought that experience back home and eventually opened his own basketball training facility to develop the next generation.

In 2020, he was inducted into the Thomas Jefferson University Athletics Hall of Fame.

Trust Your Work is the next chapter of that journey.

From playing the game to teaching it.

After a 10-year professional career, Tayron brought his experience back home and turned his attention toward developing the next generation of basketball players.

He eventually returned home and opened The Jungle, his own basketball training facility, creating a place where players could work on their game, compete, and learn what purposeful training really looks like.

Years of working directly with players showed him that talent and training alone are not enough. Players have to believe in their preparation and be willing to use what they have worked on when the pressure of the game arrives.

That experience became part of the foundation for Trust Your Work.

Why Trust Your Work?

Put the work in. Trust it when it matters.

The idea behind Trust Your Work came from watching players put time into training and then abandon everything they practiced once the pressure of a real game arrived.

Training means very little if you are afraid to use it. Preparation creates confidence. Repetition creates confidence. Understanding why you are doing something creates confidence.

Trust Your Work is about doing your part before the moment arrives so you can play freely when it does.

That mindset applies beyond basketball too. Do the work. Stay consistent. Believe in what you prepared for. Then live with the results and keep getting better.
